About Me
- Turmericans in Germany
- This is the story of a Turkish guy and an American girl who met in a bar, fell in love, got married, struggled with INS and have now moved to Germany. A country where neither speaks the language, to live out the American Dream!

Linens, French Linens!
Today we visited Gerardmer. It’s a small alpine town nestled in the Vosges mountains. As it turns out there are multiple fine linen factories, which also provide outlet access. Amazing! Amazing fabrics! Still pricey especially if you consider the weak dollar but worth the trip.

Village Sighting

On the way home from work today. I turned the corner into the village to see one of my neighbors on his back deck playing this horn. After much debate in the house and a quick Google search I discovered that it's called a Alpenhorn. Granted my neighbor was dressed in jeans and a t-shirt but still, who could make that shit up?

Istanbul 2009
We spent four fabulous but wet days in Istanbul. Our friend Tara made the trip from the U.S. We joined Bob and Angela. As always, we stayed at the Hotel Uyan. Nestled nicely between the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia its the perfect hotel for a long weekend. The staff is kind and helpful. They set us up with a tour guide for a private tour of the old city.
This was the first time I had been to the Kapali Carsi. You could shop there for days. So many temptations...we decided on a fabulous lamp.
Of course the food was amazing.
